The brainchild of law firm Brabners, True North aims to unite the region’s most influential voices and purpose-driven organisations in the region. Brabners hopes that together, these changemakers can co-create a pathway to unlocking the true potential of the Northern economy.
Alongside Fleetsolve, guests at the launch event included notable organisations with a presence in the North, such as the Prince’s Trust, Lloyds Banking Group, AMRC, and the universities of Leeds, Leeds Trinity, Liverpool, Salford, Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam.
The launch report summarises a collection of insights gained from a series of roundtable discussions with local business leaders, including Fleetsolve’s CEO, Keith O’Connor. Keith was also an expert panellist at the launch event last week, to share his views on the unique challenges and opportunities faced by our region.
Sustainable growth
A key aim of True North is identifying how businesses in the North prepare for net zero — a multidimensional approach that brings together environmental, economic and social factors.
In the launch report, Fleetsolve was selected as the Northern Star case study for sustainable growth, highlighting our collaborative approach to helping organisations make the clean energy transition in a secure and cost-effective way.
The report said, “As the world grapples with the mission-critical challenges of carbon reduction and sustainable energy, Fleetsolve shows the way forward from its home in the North, with an unwavering pursuit of innovation and sustainability rooted in the pragmatic economic necessity of the energy transition.”
Promoting prosperity and productivity
Robert White, CEO of Brabners, says the events reinforced their belief that there is a desire to go further than the concept of the Northern Powerhouse, “by developing meaningful partnerships and a culture of collaboration, aimed at building a better understanding of where the greatest opportunities lie for the region’s prosperity.” The True North network will uncover the key challenges along the way and how, ultimately, these can be met, and the opportunities grasped.
With over 20 years delivering clean energy transition across the UK and Ireland from our Northern HQ, Fleetsolve is a strong advocate for the North and its potential to lead the net zero transition. We are delighted to be part of True North and are looking forward to playing our part in unlocking the potential of this dynamic region.
